Family news: Alissa, who turned 21 recently, is working as a manger at our restaurants when she's not on the road. If you go to the Applebee's in Summersville, Linsey might be your waitress. And Guy has been working as the chili boxer.

Q&A
When I make hot dogs at home, they don't taste
as good as what I buy at The Custard Stand!
What am I doing wrong
?

Hot dogs with chili and onionsWe get this question all the time! There are a few reasons:

1. At The Custard Stand restaurants, we heat the weiners in hot water and then toss them in the chili. All that simmering adds extra flavor to the dog.

2. The hot dog buns at the restaurants are steamed and warm. To steam buns at home, wrap the bun in a damp paper towel and microwave for 10-15 seconds. Or put a colander or dry rack on top of a pot of boiling water. Cover with a lid for 20-30 seconds.

Can the restaurants accommodate large groups?
Do you need advance notice? I wanted to bring our vacation Bible school classes by. There's around
50 of us, including the grown-ups!

Yes, we can! Thanks for asking. We would like a week's notice so we can make sure to have plenty of food and plenty of staff on hand.

We welcome all kinds of groups. A church youth group from North Carolina is coming by. They're on a mission trip. And the Harley Davidson riders club in Charleston is planning a ride to our Webster Springs location soon.

Give us a call in the office at (304) 847-2942 or email us. A week's notice is recommended. Click here to see menus!
